PURPOSE: Provided is a method for determining hydroxy polychlorinated biphenyls in urine, which is excellent in sensitivity, accuracy, convenience and economical efficiency of time and cost. CONSTITUTION: The method for determining a concentration of hydroxy polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) in urine comprises the steps of: adsorption of hydroxy polychlorinated biphenyls in urine onto fibers of solid-phase microextraction(SPME); derivatization of the hydroxy polychlorinated biphenyls adsorbed on the fibers of solid-phase microextraction using trimethylsilyl; and analysis of trimethylsilyl-derived hydroxy polychlorinated biphenyls by gas chromatography or gas chromatography/mass spectrometer. The adsorption step is carried out at a position of headspace at a temperature of 90 deg.C or above for at least 60 minutes and the derivatization step is carried out at the position of headspace at a temperature of 60 deg.C for 5 to 30 minutes.
