An ultra-hard silver halide photographic material having high processing stability, which contains a hydrazine derivative represented by the following general formula (1) or (2): wherein X<1> and X<2> are each a group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, Y<1> is a hydrogen atom or a group, R<1> is a group, Y<1> and R<1> jointly provide 4 to 30 carbon atoms, Y<2> is an electron withdrawing group, R<2> is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent group, and n is an integer of from 1 to 5.
