PURPOSE: A fluorescent lamp of a back light is provided to intercept transfer of heat from an anode and a cathode electrode portions to an emitting portion by constructing a non-heat conductive transparent lamp ring between the emitting portion and each electrode portion, thereby capable of emitting a stable light. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting member(50) emits the light. A glass tube(58) is defined by an anode electrode member(51) and a cathode electrode member(52) for supplying with voltage for discharging. An anode(54a) and a cathode(54b) are constructed to the anode and cathode electrode members and apply voltage to inside of the glass tube. The first lamp ring(56a) encompasses the glass tube between the emitting member and the anode electrode member of the glass tube. The second lamp ring(56b) encompasses the glass tube between the emitting member and the cathode electrode member of the glass tube.
