METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING VISUAL SIMILARITY BETWEEN TWO IMAGES

PURPOSE: A method and a device for measuring visual similarity between two images are provided to maximize the similarity for judging a list of matched area pairs by measuring the visual similarity in consideration of a distance between attributes from a global standard. CONSTITUTION: The images are segmented into areas(E2). The visual similarity between pairs of the possible areas from two images is calculated(E3). The pairs of the areas having the similarity larger than the first fixed threshold are selected(E4). The global similarity between two images is calculated based on the selected area pairs(E9).
