PURPOSE: A battery cell welding machine of a smart battery and a welding method using the same are provided to perform a manufacturing process of the battery automatically and thus to reduce the labor loss and shorten the working time, thereby improving the work efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The battery cell welding machine(1) comprises a main body(2); a battery cell providing part(3) equipped with a battery cell drawing jig and a cell box discharger; a test module(4) equipped with a test jig, a test pin and a defective cell transferring conveyer; a cell transferring conveyer(5) for transferring a battery cell supplied from the drawing jig; a positioning module(6) for arranging the position of an electrode in the battery cell; a guide panel(21) for guiding the battery cell; a plate fixing jig(7); a battery cell fixing module(8) for fixing the battery cell onto the upper portion of the guide panel(21); a welding module(9) for welding plates in the plate fixing jig(7) in multiple times; an unloading module(10) for unloading the welded battery cell from the guide panel(21); and a control part(22) for controlling operation of each elements and displaying the voltage value of tested battery cell via a screen.
