The steam turbine has a first sub-turbine (2) connected to a second sub-turbine (3) via a transition region (1) with a flow deflection arrangement (13). The flow deflection arrangement contains a first control bucket (14) of the second sub-turbine that is inclined at an angle between 10 and 80 degrees to the rotation axis (6) of a rotor (7) that is mounted in the steam turbine. The flow deflection arrangement has a shaft cover (15).
