The method for the packing of portioned paste products in a wrapper (25) entails laying a flat blank (24) of a film-like packing material in a cell (2). The wrapper laid in the cell, at least during the filling, is charged with a vacuum on at least two opposite lying sides. A vacuum may be applied on the two sides on which the packing material as a result of folding is multi-layered, at least in sections. The wrapper may be charged with a vacuum in a region in which the wrapper is in a single layer. An independent claim is included for a device for the packing of portioned paste products in a wrapper, in which the side walls (4) of a cell have an opening (3) on at least two opposite lying sides for communicating with a vacuum source.
