PURPOSE: A balance weight and a manufacturing method thereof for a washing machine are provided to prevent the balance weight from breaking down by shock generated by strong vibration and to be environmental-friendly by re-using the waste iron powder and synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION: A balance weight, attached on a washing machine to absorb vibration of the washing machine by self-load, is injection-molded from a high-density member with the size below 8 millimeters and 70¯90wt% in comparison with the total weight and synthetic resin of 10¯30wt% for the total weight for receiving the high-density member. The synthetic resin is polyethylene. The high-density member is the industrial waste. A method for manufacturing the balance weight is composed of steps for transferring the high-density member and the synthetic resin into a quantitative chamber(13,14); regulating the rate of the high-density member and the synthetic resin by filling a constant volume of the quantitative chamber with the high-density member and the synthetic resin; compounding the high-density member and the synthetic resin received in the quantitative chamber in a mixer(15); and forming the shape of the balance weight by injection-molding the mixture of the high-density member/synthetic resin. |
