<p>The sheet material (1) of hardened glass or vitrified ceramics, to be held in a frame, has at least one polymer profile (2) round its edges. The profile has at least part of its length which ensures a tight fit into the frame (4). The profiles have an elastic distortion, and are shaped to match the frame, in a hollow or solid structure, to give a seal between the sheet material and the frame. The profile is continuous or at intervals between the sheet material and the frame, round the whole periphery. The edge profile is molded, extruded into place, or extruded and fitted to the sheet material by clips or an adhesive.</p> |
