PURPOSE: A functional beverage containing polymann having an effect of reducing cholesterol and neutral lipids, inhibiting weight gain and improving liver function as a main component is provided. It is useful for improving cardiovascular disease and liver dysfunction. CONSTITUTION: The functional beverage is prepared by adding 0.1 to 20% by weight of polymann as seaweed polysaccharide having a predetermined molecular weight followed by additives such as liquid fructose, carbon dioxide gas, citric acid and the like to raw material for beverage.
