TONE RECOGNIZING DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY DETECTING SOUND PITCH AND SOUND LENGTH FROM INPUT AUDIO SIGNAL

PURPOSE: A tone recognizing device is provided to automatically detect a sound pitch and a sound length from an input audio signal corresponding to humming, a song and a musical performance to recognize a tone. CONSTITUTION: A tone recognizing device includes a pitch estimating unit(100a) and a temporal segmentation unit(100b). The pitch estimating unit estimates a sound pitch in the over-quantized scale that is divided at a minuter interval than the musical scale. The temporal segmentation unit judges audio frames including noise, silence and unvoiced sound using a tone measure that indicates the degree to which musical tone is included in the audio frames to extract a sound pitch.
