Tree seedlings are protected against damage by warm-blooded animals by applying to the root zone thereof <FORM:1009199/A5-A6/1> wherein each R is a C1-C4 alkyl group the concentration of such compound in said root zone being such as to maintain in the plant by systemic absorption from said zone from 400-200 parts per million of said compound based on the green plant weight. Preferably the compounds are administered absorbed on granular clay-filled water-soluble e.g. gelatin capsules having an aluminium paint lacquer. |
