Oil slick barrier made from spiral strip of perforated plastic that floats on water and traps oil globules

A barrier is made from a strip of a perforated plastic material wound in a spiral to form a tube of any suitable length, e.g. several meters or tens of meters, and of any diameter. The tube is less dense than water, so it floats on the surface and with a slight draught causes oil globules to stick to its outer and inner surfaces while allowing water to pass through more or less unhindered.
