SUBSTANCE: method comprises grinding initial titanium-containing slags and successive double-step treatment in nitric acid and sodium hydroxide solutions, which is characterized by that slags to be processed are those originating from blast- furnace production and granulated at temperature above 1300 C. Precipitate after alkali treatment is additionally rinsed with water containing more than 1% sodium hydroxide and then treated with nitric acid solution, precipitate obtained after treatment of slag with nitric acid being treated with alkali solution at NaOH/SiO2 molar ratio above 4.4:1.
