PURPOSE: A disk array device for a holographic digital data storage system and a method therefor are provided to move a disk and a mask as many as scan sections in vertical and horizontal directions, and to sequentially scan array marks formed in predetermined parts of the disk and the mask by using an optical fiber, thereby automatically arraying the disk and the mask at high precision. CONSTITUTION: A light source(102) generates a beam necessary for a scanning array of a disk(108a) and a mask(108b). The generated beam is focused through a focusing lens(104), and is transmitted to an optical fiber(106). The transmitted beam passes through each array mark(108a1,108b1) of the disk(108a) and the mask(108b) mounted on an array assembly(108). The passing beam is detected through a photo detector(110). The disk(108a) and the mask(108b) are separately mounted at certain intervals.
