FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for sealing cylinder-piston group. Set of piston rings consists of upper ring and lower ring. Said rings have common axis, common outer ring surface and common inner ring surface, each provided with mating surface in place of relative contact. Said two mating surfaces conjugate on joint section in radial split of piston ring set. Joint has outer edge and inner edge in radial direction. Said two mating surfaces are relatively separated radially outwards relative to said outer edge and then form, with common outer ring surface, first wedge clearance with vertex angle equal to 10" - 1o30".
