PURPOSE: A transmissive LCD device is provided to absorb external light and reduce reflexibility by additionally forming a phase delay film when forming a black matrix, thereby preventing excessive reflection of the light due to the black matrix from occurring. CONSTITUTION: A transmissive LCD device includes a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) array substrate, a color filter substrate including a black matrix(309) having a phase delay film(311), and a liquid crystal layer filled between the TFT array substrate and the color filter substrate. A polarizing plate(301b) is respectively formed outside the TFT array substrate and the color filter substrate, and a back light is formed outside the TFT array substrate. A method for fabricating a transmissive LCD device that reduces reflection of external light includes the steps of preparing a substrate, forming a matrix type phase delay film on the substrate, forming a black matrix on the phase delay film, forming a color filter layer on the black matrix, and forming a common electrode film on the color filter layer.
