PURPOSE: A heat pump system is provided to reduce energy consumption and continuously execute heating operation in defrosting operation. CONSTITUTION: In manufacturing a direct expansion type refrigerant coil, the coil is vertically divided to be manufactured in a counter-flow shape by horizontally moving a refrigerant passing through the inside of the coil from right to left or from left to right in a direction opposite to air flowing on an outer surface of the coil a back current. An ice storage tube(34) is installed between an indoor unit(32) and an outdoor unit(33). A coil inside the ice storage tub is connected with refrigerant pipes(17,18) and a pipe line(25). An electronic valve is installed at connecting pipes. When the ice storage tub acts as a condenser, the electronic valve is opened to execute heating operation in the indoor unit and passes the condensed refrigerant to store heat lower than the condensed temperature at the ice storage tub. In executing defrosting operation, the ice storage tub acts as an evaporator by using stored heat in the ice storage tub.
