FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; devices for production of sponge titanium by magnesium thermal reduction of titanium tetrachloride. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes retort with cover, spherical bottom and drain unit, false bottom provided with detachable perforated tray mounted on support in form of circular members with overflow ports and drain pipe with overflow ports and flat disk. It is provided with compensators rigidly secured between detachable circular members which are freely mounted on spherical bottom and shell rigidly welded to lower base of disk forming clearance with drain pipe.
