PURPOSE: To provide a method for economically mass-producing copper powder, the method capable of controlling particle size distribution of copper powder by adding surfactant and adsorbing surfactant onto the surface of copper particles, thereby controlling growth of particles, reaction temperature and agitation speed. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing copper powder using surfactant In a method for preparing copper powder from the complex compound using L-ascorbic acid as a reducing agent after preparing a complex compound from a copper compound using ammonia water, the method comprises first step of preparing a copper complex compound aqueous solution by mixing a copper salt aqueous solution, ammonia water and surfactant; second step of preparing a surfactant adsorbed copper aqueous solution in the colloid state by mixing L-ascorbic acid with the copper complex compound aqueous solution; and third step of preparing copper powder having particle size from 0.3 to 4.0 μm by controlling reaction temperature and agitation speed of the colloid copper solution.
