METHOD FOR DISPLAYING EPG INFORMATION OF MULTIPLE CHANNELS OF DIGITAL TV RECEIVER

PURPOSE: A method for displaying multi-channel EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information in a digital TV receiver is provided to stop the operation of decoding the current channel when an EPG key is inputted and display a plurality of EPG information items of neighborhood channels in a scroll form. CONSTITUTION: It is judged whether a key signal for displaying EPG information is input(S200). When the key signal is input, the operation of decoding the current channel is interrupted(S202). A predetermined number of neighborhood channels of the current channel are tuned(S204). PSIP(Program and System Information Protocol) information of the tuned neighborhood channels is parsed(S206). MGT(Mater Guide Table) information and VCT(Virtual Channel Table) information of the parsed PSIP information are parsed to display EPG information of the neighborhood channels(S208,S210).
