PURPOSE: A method for automatically searching TV broadcasting channels is provided to store information of channels auto-searched in a regular broadcasting time zone and information of channels auto-searched in the time zone other than the regular broadcasting time zone in different memory tables, to thereby allow viewers to watch only broadcasted channels. CONSTITUTION: It is judged whether the current time corresponds to a regular broadcasting time zone while initiating auto search when an auto search mode key signal is input(S200,S202,S204). When the current time corresponds to the regular broadcasting time zone, channel information of a received broadcasting program is stored in the first memory(S206). When the current time does not correspond to the regular broadcasting time zone, it is judged whether sound information is detected from the received broadcasting signal. When the sound information is detected, the channel information of the broadcasting program from which the sound information is detected is stored in the second memory(S216). |
