PURPOSE: An OSD(On Screen Display) skin updating apparatus is provided to update the skin of an OSD user interface screen by producing basic information, font information and code information in respective program data forms. CONSTITUTION: An OSD skin updating apparatus includes a key input unit(111) having a plurality of input keys including a function key by which an OSD user interface skin updating command is input, a basic data storage unit(131) in which basic information including OSD structure is stored in a program data form, a font data storage unit(133) in which font information including at least one of an OSD menu window and scroll bar is stored in a program data form, and a code data storage unit(135) in which code information including at least one of an OSD position and option is stored in a program data form. The apparatus further includes a key processing table storage unit(143) for storing a key processing table to carry out and process a corresponding command in response to a key signal input through the key input unit, an OSD controller(121), and an OSD processor(161). The OSD controller downloads OSD skin data from an external source to store the font information and code information program data, updates the key processing table based on the font information and code information program data, and generates an OSD user interface screen updated in response to the key signal input through the key input unit according to the updated table. The OSD processor displays the generated OSD user interface screen on the screen of an image output device. |
