FIELD: nondestructive tests; ultrasonic flaw inspections to check can for abutting against core of bushing-shaped fuel elements. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed test piece has rod with nozzle and parts having artificial flaws in the form of washers with different longitudinal slots alternately installed one after another. Slot size of one washer equals minimal recorded non-abutting area on external shell and that of slot of other washer equals minimal recorded non-abutting area on internal shell. ^ EFFECT: enhanced precision of ultrasonic transducer adjustment. ^ 1 cl, 3 dwg
