PURPOSE: A wet-type image forming apparatus is provided to efficiently remove a gaseous developer, especially, carrier vapor generated from a fixing unit when performing a fixing operation. CONSTITUTION: A fixing unit(20) fixes a developer transferred to a recording medium. A filter(30) is arranged so as to encapsulate at least a region of the circumference of the fixing unit and performs pyrolysis for the gaseous developer generated during the fixing operation. A catalyst is coated on the surface of the filter in order to promote the pyrolysis. A filter housing(40) receives the fixing unit and the filter and includes a feeding member(42) for feeding a recoding medium and a discharging member(44) for discharging the recoding medium fed by the feeding member and carried by the fixing unit.
