The method involves transmitting packets to a compression/decompression stage of a header of the packets. Additional information e.g. reliability of decoded bits and information on state of a channel (5) or of a source, is simultaneously transmitted to a formatting stage. The additional information is transmitted to produce the information in additional packets compatible with a network stack.
