METHOD FOR SELECTING AND REPRODUCING DATA BY USING A COUNTRY CODE, CONCERNED WITH SELECTING AND REPRODUCING A SUBTITLE OR AUDIO DATA IN VARIOUS LANGUAGES, WHICH ARE STORED ON OPTICAL DISC, BASED ON A COUNTRY CODE INSTALLED IN A DEVICE

PURPOSE: A data selecting and reproducing method is provided to enable a user to select and regenerate a sub title or audio data made in a certain foreign language by using a country code previously set in an apparatus or by a user. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A country code, given at a record media player, is checked(S12). All the available languages used in the data recorded in the record media are checked(S13). By using the checked country code, one among all the available languages is automatically selected when the data recorded on the record media is regenerated(S14,S15). The user can select a country code among plural country codes previously set via an OSD(On Screen Display) image or the country code can be set in producing the record media player. If there does not exist a sub title or audio data made in a language corresponding to a country code set by a user, other sub title or audio data in an arbitrary language can be reproduced.
