PURPOSE: A crane-overload protection method is provided to cut down the cost and to simplify the structure of a crane by installing only a pressure transducer at a hydraulic system and measuring the load of the crane by changing the hydraulic pressure detected by the hydraulic system into an electrical signal. CONSTITUTION: A crane-overload protection method is composed of steps for detecting the load of a crane by a pressure transducer installed at a device for regulating the angle of a spreader detaching containers at the crane and outputting a current value(S1); converting the current value into a rope load, checking an operation mode, and then calculating an actual load of the spreader according to the correspondent mode(S2,S3,S4); and checking various conditions of the crane and executing warning controls by regarding the correspondent conditions(S5,S6).
