PURPOSE: An apparatus for compensating color temperature of a lamp for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) projection TV(Television) is provided to automatically control the color temperature of the lamp according to use time of the LCD projection TV, thereby preventing the quality of the LCD projection TV from deteriorating. CONSTITUTION: A signal processing IC(Integrated Circuit)(300) sets brightness and contrast values of a lamp according to the inputted control signal, and then controls the brightness of the lamp(400). A microcomputer(200) counts use time of the lamp and stores the lamp use time to a memory(100). Whenever the use time stored to the memory exceeds a predetermined reference time such as 40 hours, the microcomputer generates a color temperature compensation signal for compensating the color temperature of the lamp and provided the generated color temperature compensation signal to the signal processing IC.
