PURPOSE: A display device is provided which has a shift register circuit capable of suppressing the increase of power consumption. CONSTITUTION: The first circuit unit(31a-31n) has the first transistor connected to the first potential and being turned on in response to a clock signal, and the second transistor connected to the second potential, and the third transistor connected between a gate of the first transistor and the second potential, and the fourth transistor being connected between a clock signal line and the gate of the first transistor and supplying the clock signal to the first transistor. The second circuit unit(32a-32n) has the fifth transistor connected to the first potential and being turned on in response to the clock signal, and the sixth transistor connected to the second potential, and the seventh transistor connected between a gate of the fifth transistor and the second potential, and the eighth transistor connected between the clock signal line and the gate of the fifth transistor and supplying the clock signal to the fifth transistor.
