PURPOSE: A microwave oven is provided to restrict foreign matters from being infiltrated into a magnetron from a cooking chamber by shutting off the microwave portion of the inner wall of the cavity. CONSTITUTION: A microwave oven comprises a body forming the exterior, a cavity(200) having a cooking chamber in the body, both rear corners rounded and plural air inlets formed in the front to flow air in, a waveguide(360) mounted at the side of the cavity to guide microwave, a magnetron installed in the waveguide to generate microwave, and a canopy(400) contacted to the waveguide installation portion of the cavity and composed of an extension part integrally formed in the rear end as the corner of the cavity. The round rear end of the canopy is extended to surround the waveguide installation portion, and the front end of the canopy is installed in the side of the cavity to restrict the air inlet of the cavity from being closed by the canopy.
