PURPOSE: An EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) for broadcasting communication integrating is provided to select desired broadcasting channels in an OLT(Optical Line Terminal), and to transmit the selected channels to ONTs(Optical Network Terminals), thereby using low-priced, low-specification broadcasting optical receivers within the ONTs. CONSTITUTION: An OLT(300) switches plural digital broadcasting/video data transmitted from external broadcasting providers according to broadcasting/video selection information, couples broadcasting/video signals with communication signals created by optically modulating communication data, and transmits the coupled signals. Plural ONTs(400-1¯400-16) receive optical signals from the OLT(300) to separate into the broadcasting/video signals and the communication signals, output broadcasting/video information and the converted communication signals to users, and receive communication signals and the broadcasting/video selection information from the users to output the received signals and the information to the OLT(300). An optical branching filter(215) branches the signals of the OLT(300) to the ONTs(400-1¯400-16), and couples the signals of the ONTs(400-1¯400-16) to transmit the coupled signals to the OLT(300).
