PURPOSE: A flat panel display device and its driving method are provided, which removes light leakage and improves aperture ratio using a piezoelectric material. CONSTITUTION: The reflection type display device comprises a transparent substrate(22), and a piezoelectric material(28) which arranged with an air gap(34) from the transparent substrate and reflects an incident light via the transparent substrate and the air gap, and it controls wavelength of the light by controlling the air gap with volume expansion according to an applied electric field. A scan line supplies a scan signal to the piezoelectric material. A data line supplies a data signal to the piezoelectric material.
