The method involves programming a mobile terminal (2) in a zone covered by a primary public land mobile network (PLMN) and by secondary PLMN in which the terminal is configured for searching a network at end of one duration. The terminal is programmed to suspend a searching of a cell of the secondary PLMN at the end of another duration, if a radio link between the terminal and primary PLMN is cut off. An independent claim is also included for a mobile terminal intended to be used in a geographical zone covered by a network to which the terminal is attached by another telecommunication network.
