PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the security by using an apparatus that indirectly confirms the living, safety, and ease of mind of a user. SOLUTION: The communication system is provided with: an information terminal 9 provided with at least an information collection section 11 for collecting apparatus information with respect to the apparatus and a registration section 12 for registering the apparatus; an information processing server apparatus 23 capable of carrying out transmission/reception with the information terminal 9; a power supply section 17 for supplying power to the information terminal 9; and a battery supply section 18 for backing up power when the supply of the power to the power supply section is interrupted, and when no power is supplied to the battery supply section 18, registration of the apparatus is inhibited.
