PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cassette for detecting image information where an image information detection part is housed in a case, and which provides improved safety to an operator when the cassette is dropped and broken due to the shock of the dropping. SOLUTION: When the operator inadvertently drops the cassette for detecting image information 1 during carrying etc. and an acceleration of≥1/2×G (gravitational acceleration) is outputted from an acceleration sensor 31, a state judgment part 27 judges that an abnormal state is caused in the cassette 1. A control part 26 causes a light irradiation part lock mechanism 37 to fix a reading light irradiation part 13 and outputs a power supply inhibition mode signal to a power supply control part 25.
