PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material testing machine which measures elongation and a change in width of a specimen without using two kinds of measuring apparatuses and automatically measures a fracture position of the specimen. SOLUTION: The material testing machine comprises an elongation measuring means 71a which obtains elongation between reference lines by image processing using imaging signals from a video camera 5 which images the specimen W, a width measuring means 71b which obtains a change in width of the specimen W by image processing using the same imaging signals, and a fracture position measuring means 71c which obtains a fracture position of the specimen W by image processing using the same imaging signals.
