PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical surface seal which can be used even at a high pressure and high temperature position, and which can be easily mounted and removed. SOLUTION: In the cylindrical surface seal, an annular member made of a metal mounted in an annular sealing groove 130 includes an inside cylindrical sealing part 2 opposed to a seal S1 through a minute clearance C1 at the 1st side face 121 of a shaft, a cylindrical outside seal 3 opposed to a seal S2 through a minute clearance C2 at the inner periphery of the 1st side face 111 of a housing, and an annular bottom 4 for coupling the one end of the inside seal 2 to the outside seal 3. A middle protruding part 5 deflected in a protruding state is formed at the intermediate part of the bottom 4, and seals S1 and S2 of the inside seal 2 and the outside seal 3 can be closely brought into contact with the 1st side face 121 of a shaft and the 1st side face 111 of housing by compressing a middle protruding part 5 into axial direction, and extending to internal diameter and outside diameter side.
