PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main rope post of clamp fixed type, which exerts sufficient supporting force even if a main rope is stretched not only in parallel with the latitudinal direction of a steel frame beam but also in perpendicular to the latitudinal direction. SOLUTION: The main rope post comprises a post body 2 having locking metal fixtures for the main rope on the top of the post body 2, and clamp metal fixtures 4, which are arranged on a mounting pipe 12 fitted on the lower part of the post body 2 and are mounted on a flange 3a of the steel frame beam 3 via fastening members 8 by a clamp fixing method. Each clamp metal fixture 4 is arranged to sandwich the post body 2 on both sides thereof and project in the width direction of the flange 3a, and is provided with the fastening members 8 for clamping the flange 3a.
