PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy sheet for a high strength cap which is excellent in pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, low earing, sealing properties, explosion proofness and deep drawability, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The alloy sheet has a composition comprising, by weight, 0.8 to 2.0% Mg, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, and has a tensile strength of 170 to 214 MPa, an elongation of≥5%, an earing ratio of≤3% and a critical contraction ratio of≥1.9. In the production method, hot rolling and cold rolling are performed. It is preferable that the final cold rolling ratio is controlled to >50 to 80%, and final temper annealing is performed at 190 to 260°C after the final cold rolling. The alloy sheet may comprise≤0.2% SiO,≤0.35% Fe,≤0.02% Cu and≤0.05% Mn in addition to the above composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
