PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic formed article having a germanium-diffused layer, which has a superior appearance and color tone, retains mechanical strength and workability attributed to the metal of a substrate and hopefully gives a living body an effect of germanium, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The metallic formed article has the germanium-diffused layer of diffusing germanium or a germanium compound therein, in at least one part of the substrate metal of the metallic formed article wherein the substrate metal is any of (a) a metal selected from the group consisting of gold, silver, platinum and palladium, or a metal alloy thereof, (b) titanium or a titanium alloy, and (c) stainless steel. The metallic formed article retains the formability and the strength attributed to the metal of the substrate, is economical due to little usage of expensive germanium, and hopefully gives the living body the effect of germanium. The metallic formed article is used for the article contacting with skin like accessories and exterior parts of a wristwatch, and shows the appearance having the same color tone and luster as the metal of the substrate, if the germanium layer or the germanium-diffused layer is formed only in a contacting part with skin.
