PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sure separating operation of a tongue plate in a simple structure. SOLUTION: This buckle device 1 comprises a lock bar 30 pushed by a release button 50 and moving to a second position P2 allowing the turning of a hook member 20 in the engagement releasing direction; and a lock member 60 turning to an unlock position by the release button 50 when separating the tongue plate 2. For separating the tongue plate 2 from the buckle body 5, the release button 50 is rearward moved, the lock bar 30 starts to move to the second position P2 and separates from a first engagement part 63, a lock member pushing part 59 of the release button 50 abuts on an abutment part 66 of a side plate part front end 61d of the lock member 60 and the lock member 60 starts to turn to the side of the unlock position. Whereafter, the lock bar 30 moves to the second position P2 without contacting with a second engagement part 64 and the hook member 20 upward turns to the maximum to release the engagement of the tongue plate 2.
