PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven stamping machine with which time necessary to one process of stamping is shortened by making an upper die so as to move at high speed for the nonstamping period of a stage where a material to be worked is not stamped. SOLUTION: This machine is provided with a frame body 4, a slider 5 which is slid on pillars 3, a ball screw mechanism 26 which is screwed on a lower male screw part 15 for vertically moving the slider 5 with a servomotor 8 for rapid traverse through a ball screw shaft 11 having the upper male screw part 14 of a right-hand screw and the lower male screw 15 of a left-hand screw, a ball screw mechanism 17 which is screwed on the upper male screw part 14 and freely rotatably supported in a crown 2 and a worm wheel 19 and a worm 24 which are fixed to the ball screw mechanism 17. Herewith, the machine consists of a pressurizing servomotor 23 for vertically moving the ball screw shaft 11 by revolving the ball screw mechanism 17 which is screwed on the upper male screw part 14, an upper die 27 which is provided on the slider 5, a lower die 28 which is fixed to a bed 1, a pulse scale 29 for detecting the position of the upper die 27 and a controller 31 for lowering, pressing and elevating the upper die 27.
