PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescence device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent degradation of light emitting characteristics and lengthen the useful life of the device, by suppressing the movement of ionic impurities to a light emitting layer. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescence device(1) comprises a functional layer(5) having at least a light emitting layer(9). The functional layer is interposed between a first electrode(3) and a second electrode(4). At least a part of the functional layer is formed by a functional material constituting the function layer, added with an inorganic ion exchange material.
