METHOD FOR PRODUCING (-)-VIBO-QUERCITOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing (-)vibo-quercitol useful as a raw material for producing a medicine and an agrochemical, with which a large amount of (-)-vibo-quercitol is selectively produced by a simple operation. SOLUTION: Myo-inositol is treated with a bacterium belonging to the genus Enterobacter capable of converting myo-inositol into (-)-vibo-quercitol to convert myo-inositol into (-)-vibo-quercitol. Thus a large amount of (-)-vibo-quercitol useful as a raw material for producing a medicine and an agrochemical is selectively produced by a simple operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
