PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generating apparatus retaining the generating quantity of negative ions to be constant by addition of a simple circuit configuration. SOLUTION: The ion generating device is provided with an inverter 12 converting the driving voltage from DC power source 11 to AC , a piezoelectric transformer 13 boosting the AC output by the inverter 12, and a discharging needle 15 discharging electrons from its tip by high voltage which is boosted by the piezoelectric transformer 13. The inverter 12 and the piezoelectric transformer 13 are commonly connected to the ground GND. A resistance 16 for quantification, suppressing variation in generated quantity of ion against variation in force of electric field at the tip of the discharging needle is inserted and connected in between the output of the piezo electric transformer 13 and the common COM.
