PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image recording/reproducing apparatus having a library function that easily identifies and manages recorded images by collectively managing library data of images, which are recorded in an optical disk or a hard disk, within the hard disk and displaying the data. SOLUTION: In the image recording/reproducing apparatus that records/reproduces image data into/from a removable optical disk 11 and a built-in hard disk 13, when an image is recorded into the optical disk 11 or the hard disk 13, library data of the recorded image is produced and stored in the hard disk. The library data are edited and displayed as needed, thereby a large number of images stored in multiple optical disks or hard disks are identified and managed easily and collectively.
