PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for incorporating a gasket, and a gasket, in which the gasket is prevented from falling or being bitten so as to stabilize sealing performance. SOLUTION: This gasket is composed to seal a gap between a throttle body and an intake manifold incorporated in relatively diagonal directions. The gasket 1 having a roughly pentagonal cross section in an installation groove 21 formed in the throttle body 20 is put from a position before the throttle body 20 and the intake manifold 30 are incorporated with each other to get in contact with only a tight contact surface 31 of the intake manifold to which the gasket 1 in the installation groove gets in contact as the throttle body 20 is incorporated with the intake manifold 30, and the gasket 1 is slid to get in contact with the tight contact surface 31.
