PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphorus removing apparatus which can solidify and remove phosphorus by using iron in sewage. SOLUTION: On the downstream of an acid fermentation tank 6 where sludge generated in sewage treatment is subjected to organic acid fermentation and fermented material is recovered, a phosphorus solidifying tank 9 where air or oxygen-containing gas is fed or an oxidizing agent is added to fermented sludge 8 discharged from the acid fermentation tank 6 is installed.
