ULTRASONOGRAPH HAVING BLOOD VESSEL MEASURING FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure information concerning the tunica vasculosa and display in real time in an ultrasonograph having a blood vessel measuring function. SOLUTION: The ultrasonograph is structured so as to form an ultrasonic beam in a plurality of beam lines in an organism and incorporate the RF reception signal in a tunica vasculosa detection section 28 and a vascular tunica thickness operation section 30. The tunica vasculosa detection section 28 measures the thickness of the tunica vasculosa for each beam line and determines a beam line in which the thickness of the tunica vasculosa is greatest as a beam line suited for measurement of the thickness of the tunica vasculosa. The ultrasonograph detects the tunica intima side position and the position between the tunica media and the tunica externa of a vascular wall for the beam line determined. The thickness of the tunica vasculosa operation section 30 extracts an RF reception signal for measuring the thickness of the tunica vasculosa from the RF reception signal, sets the point of tracking for the RF reception signal extracted and tracks the tracking points of the RF reception signal extracted and incorporated after that.
